Walking Manhatten
The Grand Rapids Area Library's Community Room was filled with people on Monday, August 23. They were there to see Grand Rapids native Dede Emerson talk about her new book: "A Different Kind of Street Walker: Manhatten by Foot, One Block at a Time." Dede took on the adventure of walking each block in Manhatten, and photographing some of the sights the average tourist wouldn't notice. She talked about each photo, and gave an interesting look at Manhatten many who even live there don't take time to appreciate. Recorded by ICTV volunteer Donna Waech this program can be seen on ICTV's public access channel on Thursday, September 9 at 9:00pm; Monday, September 13 at 3:00pm; Wednesday, September 15 at 5:30pm; and Saturday, September 18 at 10:00pm. Watch this interesting program and learn more about the Manhatten that is less seen.

Monster Fire At Minong
On Tuesday, August 10, the Grand Rapids Area Library held a special program with author Bill Matthias. Mr. Matthias was there to discuss the Five Mile Tower Fire of 1977, one of the largest wild land fires in Wisconsin history. He personally battled this fire and later compiled a book about it titled, "Monster Fire At Minong." He discussed how the fire grew, what was done to control it, and what it's final effects were. He also talks about how fire fighting techniques have changed, and shows videos of some of the fire fighting equipment in action. ICTV volunteer Donna Waech was in the audience to record this program, and it can be seen on ICTV's public access channel beginning on Monday, August 23 at 2:00pm. It is also scheduled to play on Wednesday, August 25 at 9:00pm and Saturday, August 28 at 5:00pm. Don't miss this interesting program.
